temperatures

were is the best place to put the probe of my digital thermometer? it is currently sitting in the warm end of the tank in the middle on top of the substrate. i use under tank heating pads, so should i move it up above the substrate? i dont feel that i would get an accurate reading by attaching my probe to the wall of my cage because the room temperatures will affect my reading. please help !!!

in conjunction with keeping BRB's - "Tank"!

Glass tanks are not very good enclosures for little BRB's, the screen top will let out heat and humidity and the glass sides also conduct the heat right out of the enclosure.

Can be bandaided by covering most of the top with a solid covering like plexiglass etc. And depending on your house temps, you may need to insulate three sides so you are not having to heat it so much to maintain temps.

And of course some sort of control on yout UTH's. Minimal a dimmer switch, better would be a thermostat, best would be a digital proportional thermostat with night drop.

As to your question, best place for the thermometer probe is where the snake is, on the floor, maybe even in the substrate.

my humidity stays above 90 percent ALL the time. the temps always stay constant. my snake is also 3 feet long and almost a year old. even tho there are better habitats 4 a brb if u kno wat ur doin a tank will never b a problem. my tank also has a locking plexiglass top its not screen.

Hey Jacob,

That's great, I know they can be made to work. I hear from to many people about their BRB is not doing well. All too often it's tied back to either a screen top tank or temps in the mid 80's (and higher).

Sorry if I cam across wrong.

So, how about some pics of Princess???
