Suppliments.........

Brandon Osborne Mar 03, 2009 11:22 AM

How many keepers here suppliment their breeders with calcium or vitamins? If so, what are the best choice to use and how much? I'm just trying to get an idea on causes of infertility and egg death.

Thank you all in advance, and keep up the great work.

I have always had very good luck with fertility without offering any supplements. I raise my own rodents and feed them purina lab chow. there are many possible reasons why some have trouble with fertility regarding alterna but i don't think vitamin supplements are necessary provided you feed the snake a properly nurished rodent and feed the snake an appropriate quantity of rodents. My experience is based on captive hatched alterna that i have raised myself. I have no experience with wild caught specimens. regards, rusty
