Crazy Hungry Crickets

faygo19 Mar 03, 2009 08:22 PM

So I went to the store and bought some (50) crickets for my beardie and I put in the water source and some cricket food like normal along with a small handful of veggies for them. I like to load them up with good stuff before my dragon feeds upon them. I noticed that they were attacking the food like crazy and within 5 mins they ate all the veggies and a bunch of the food. I was stunned maybe the pet store forgot to feed them. But anyways not they are all fat and happy so good story on why you should feed your crickets before you feed them to your dragon.

most pet stores don't feed their crickets. Some may put a carrot and that jello water stuff but I doubt they have enough food. I always feed my crickets at least 24 hours before feeding to my dragons. This is what gut loading is, otherwise starving crickets are no good as feeders.
