Sulcata question

Nekomeh Mar 04, 2009 07:02 AM

I live in North Carolina and i was wondering if it the climate would be ok to have one here. I know it gets cold in the winter but i didnt know if i had to bring it inside or if providing it with some shelter and heat in it's enclosure would be enough.

sulcatas as you might know are severely prone to resp. infections. im not 100% on the exact temps of N.C. but im thinking its really cold in the winter expecially at night. yes you can keep it inside when its small but eventually a really well insulated heated outdoor enclosure will need to be built. i live in south east texas and i struggle with keeping r.i.'s out of them all winter. where there is a will there is a way im sure somebody probibly keeps sulcatas in N.C.. will this be your first tort or do you have others?
