WOW Those are great. Is that all from wind errosion ?
It looks like an ancient river may have worn some of that away?

Any shells or marine fossils at this spot ?

I havnt foud any shell fossils, just alot of aggots, & I did find my first arrow head in the area last summer. A good friend of mine has found a few arrow heads, & some Native American pottery in the same area, pretty cool stuff

Damn! Thats some really nice stuff!

Yea, I'll take a few rock pics hopfully tomorrow. Most of my aggots (hundreds of them),along with lots of petrafied wood, fossils, & crystals are outside in my rock gardens. I come home with more rocks almost every time I'm out herping.

Thats the old fridge door circa 1950's
Dave i found more then a few snakes under this old door but the best was a female milks snake below

but whats cool is that after I went to another spot down the road I returned to the fridge again one hour later and found this guy.

Whats interesting is that this was all in the middle of the day proving that milks snakes are out on the crawl in the day time.He may have followed her scent trail right to the door.

I still have this guy from that clutch. He has eaten very well entering his 5th year he is ready to breed.

I was going to hook him up to this outstanding female but she didnt make it through the winter

Great post Douglas!!! Shows why one should always have the camera handy in the field! Great stuff. I love the snake bones photo and the milk and black rat together. Wait, snakes together? I better not go there!! Hope we get some good photos here in about six weeks or so my friend!

snake_bit Mar 04, 2009 09:01 PM

I love that skeleton pic too.I think it was a black rat judging by the size. If you look close you can see the ribs have fallen away but that thing is there just the way it died.I'm guessing the ants picked its bones clean.I often think I should have brought it home, bleached it and reasembled it like a model car.Glad I had the camera that day

The first tri color is a arizona mt king curled up in his water bowl.I found him in 2000 in the mountains south of Tucson AZ.
Thats my dog sleeping on the picnic table. He guards the cave and has found a few escaped snakes.
Thailand stock ? No thats just grows wild from the days when it was used to make rope.
Good call on the ribbon snake. That was sitting up there on a old fence post.
Glad you liked the pics.
