I know I've mentioned before That I'm a zoo keeper and that we recieve almost daily calls from people trying to donate animals to us. Starting in January i have been keeping a list of all the animals offered so far. In just two months we have recieved calls about.
9 Burmese pythons
11 Ball pythons
2 Reticulated pythons
2 African Rock pythons
1 Kenyan Sand boa
4 Red Tailed boas
6 African Spured tortoises
1 Greek Tortiose
8 Green Iguanas
3 Nile monitors
5 Savanah Monitors
1 Peach Throat Monitor
5 Red Eared sliders

And this list doesn't include what animal control brings us withour warning

So please be responsible when you buy and for pet store employes/owners be a little picky on who you sell to on occasion.
This list is just from one small zoo every zoo in the country has a list similar to this and we CAN NOT take every animal that comes our way of this list we have not taken any of the animals offered

Ya well thats what everyone says to do. Call the zoo they will take it. Suprised there are not more Iguanas on that list.

Well, some zoos don't have a great collection, why is that. I can tell you that the Brookfield zoo, use to be good, now it does not even have a reptile house, and in fact the Birmingham zoo was a lot better. It would be nice to see some more variety in all zoos. Can you explain why that is. I always seem to walk away disappointed, wanting more.
