Safe for my snake?

Andres Mar 05, 2009 07:17 PM

Is it okay to just get some type of clothing or cloth and spend a day or two with it on me and put it in my snake's tank so it can get used to my smell/me? Also what temp. should I keep frozen pinkies at? My freezer is on "4" (recommended) for freezer temp from 1-7. Thanks

As long as your feeder rodents are frozen solid you are all good.. I am not sure if your serious about the shirt thing, but in the event that you are.. I would think you would be wasting your time, and a shirt as well..

I think the shirt thing works for dogs not snakes but who knows.

...on a rogue Rosy Boa once. Did it work, you ask?

You be the judge...

In retrospect, maybe the shirt shouldn't have been waved in front of her face. Oh well - live and learn!

BTW, the Rosy eventually calmed down on her own.

I'd say it worked just fine if you're trainin the rosy to be an attack snake...

I think if you put the shirt in a bag with the mice the snake will show some added attention to you. Ha.

Thanks for the help guys, I heard the shirt thing would work for snakes, but I guess it doesn't matter. Btw, Viborero, how'd you get the snake off your shirt?

viborero Mar 06, 2009 09:52 AM

....I had to carefully work from the back of the snake's mouth in order to "unhook" the shirt from her teeth. It took a while, but we got it.
