Breathing issue or beardie behavior?

tj_sa1816 Mar 06, 2009 10:54 AM

So my beardie in the past two weeks has come out of brumation. He has been good and active with his appetite getting pack to normal, he eats all his normal veggies and worms but is a little slow having an interest in his crickets. He has been showing off sooooo much more than usual with the head bobs and black beard and getting all big and puffy. Today he has been letting out little hiss spurts as if he was trying to cough something up. Has anyone else seen this. He blows up his whole body then PSSST! He is still super bouncy and ridiculous. Is there any sure thing to watch for that will tell me if it is a respiratory problem? Thanks guys.

unless there is mucus bubbling out of his nose or mouth..sounds like typical male bearded dragon bluffing hissing. Usually this is open mouth hissing. If his mouth is closed and he's making hissing noises...may be a URI, but with the other info you gave I don't think so.
