OK....started reading some of the total crap below...

here is a few ideas

we cannot duplicate nature.....

we can't, we do not provide the space for roaming and exercise, thus we have fat snakes alot, they are bored and just lay around and wait for a meal.

we cannot provide natural sunlight...

we cannot provide food for the snakes with a varied diet in the prey's gut, wild animals eat what they can find and what they know is good for them, not lab blocks made from waste grain and leftovers and some form of animal or molasses proteins...wild prey eats alot more vitamins and minerals it needs....as do the snakes....just like the mud of a macaw?....

the air is better in the wild...alot better......

the water has more minerals in the wild...we don't fill water bowls with muddy ,mineral laden water....

anyways......moist hide dry hides, warm and cool, water and air flow....brumation in a plastic box....it's all what we do...well...we argue alot.....

so....I quit reading the crap below....man...can people in KS waste finger useage....

...(me too?) ...anyways......

I agree JY . Those guys have a lot to offer though.Jeff has helped many here with problem feeders.I learned about tail feeding from him several years ago.FR makes us think about some of our methods. They have had 30 - 45 years of experience so we can cut them some slack.Maybe one of the symptoms of winter cabin fever is irritability.lol

....Oh, I know they KNOW and I like to argue...but alot of the post material is total crap....they start out smart and end up alley or redneck on it all...if ya know what I mean....I do the same thing at times......but .....hahaha.....

wild ......told this before....russian hamster ...daughter's pet...2 years ?...(they average 6 month here )....sick...left go in yard at "rodent pile",garden and stick pile...lots of cover and food....weeks later, hunting worms...russian walked right up in front of me,stood there looking up and I took her back in house for a couple more years.....she GOT healthy as can be by being IN the wild....

water,soil,sun,air....all better IN the wild....

snake rooms are good because they have a snake smell and all and let's snakes at ease so they feed better at times...and breed....but the air and all gets stale....

I have well water...it helps that issue....reducing feeding amounts helped....but I still have cages too small usually....that's a hard one to get better on...

....I should be fishing right now.....it's time...herps are at den entrences too I bet...it's 50 degrees yesterday and upper 60's today....time to think outside.....

......yet I am here at computer ,and going down to the cellar for rodent cleanings.......hmmm...

.....anyways.....
