Does mouth rot ever go away on its own?

Maybe. But if it doesn't it could very well kill your snake. It's not worth the risk. Depending on how advanced it is there are a few home remedies, but vet care is best.

No way!
You have to care about this disease strongly and quickly (go to the vet and choose a pretty serious one) or the animal will die at 90% chance.
And if some others animals stay in the same enclosure with an infected animal, put them away (as soon as possible) because mouth rot is seriouly contagious.
