New Baby! Intoducing Gomer

Reptileszz Mar 08, 2009 10:42 AM

Here is my new baby that I got yesterday. He/she is so cute I can't stand it. I was not expecting him to be so small and I think he still has his egg tooth. How long does it usually take to lose an eggtooth I wonder. The guy I got him from had him for the last week and a half and the person he got them from "only had 2 left". I wish I knew where he was bred but all I heard was "somewhere in south florida". Do they lay at this time of the year down there?

Thanks,
Carole

I know that dish is way too small. That was just for last night.

Here are pics of the new setup. I am using a 40 watt ceramic heat element for a basking spot since they dont seem to like too much light. I have the reptisun 10.0 on there as he needs the uv.

He ate like a pig today I am happy to report.

Thanks for any opinions.

In your picture you caught the emys emys with that baby greenish color that I think looks so cool. Looks like you have a little champion there.........Good luck with your Asian Treasure====Richard

LOL, yeah it is. Are people starting to make a real effort at captive breeding this species? Until VERY recently, info was next to non-existant on these torts..
