I didn't think this one would be ready at only four years old

but she looked round in the belly

Ovulating?

Well my male seemed to think so

This male is having a good year.My bright male died so this second string quarterback has 3 new female freinds so far this year

How did she get in my photobucket?

Doug, you must be a woodstove man like me!! I go through a whole forrest every year. Ha ha.

snake_bit Mar 08, 2009 09:39 PM

Where I live wood is thrown away.Nobody burns wood here so I go and bring it home to split. The stove stays on the whole winter except when I have to clean the pipe.

Good to see things off to a good start so far! There've been some hook-ups at my place, too. Hopefully we can see more of this in a couple of months:

I have 6 pairs going at it here.Tails banging against the tanks spaghetti boxes(hides)and water bowls knockin'around.Spring is in the air at least here in the heated snake room.
Those thin saddled thomas co pales are so cool.Do they all have that trait or just some?

I had 5 pairs locked up at the same time last night. Pretty cool to see. Hopefully I've got a lot more locked up today!

The Thomas Co. animals from that particular pairing tend to have those tight saddles.

Here's one from that clutch at 14" or so.

Here's the sire from that group

Man I love those pales. Here we go again---breath---I have enough snakes-I have enough snakes---repeat--breath---It isn't working!!!!

If you figure out how to stop the addiction, let us all know! LOL

Nice Doug, eggs to follow.

I've got some interest going in the Boars den.

If your small you just have to bite to gain control.

And then the gentle side seems to get things done too.

And if your to small to get the neck bite, the back will always do in a pinch.

Hey Doug,
Here's a current photo of my '05 Lincoln Co., Ks.
gentilis that I picked up from Jeff Hardwick. I just
weighed the female and she came in at a whopping 63g.
and about 23" long. LOL!! As soon as I put the pair together
the male bit her behind the head and she opened her cloaca.
I definitely have my fingers crossed.

Seems 4 year old gentilis can be ready if they ate well every year and eat well coming out of the cold room.

Jeff did have to start them off on tails, but by the time
I recieved them, they were absolute pigs! They have both
been putting away the food with no problems. They have
definitely grown faster than I thought they would.

Yours ate through the first two winters w/o being in the cold room? Thats what mine did to grow this fast and since she was always a pretty snake I fed her more then others

You can see she started out red

Yes, both the male and the female were fed through their
first two winters, with no problems getting them to eat either.
