I thought I'd throw out a random question to see if we could spark some good conversations...

Are your snakes insured?

I only have 4 snakes, but that's about $1600 just right there, if my pastel is het pied it goes up a lot more (Saw someone selling a female pastel het pied for $2000).
That's just snakes, add in the equiptment and other supplies.
So, are you prepared if one of your thermostats went crazy and started on fire (God forbid)?

i just got renters insurance and there were like yea everything is covered if you turned your house upside down everything would be covered if someone stole your pants out of your car or house it would be covered i was like cool i got some snakes worth some money she replied with oh thats not covered we dont cover pets if they get stolen. now how dunb is that they will cover my pants my tv prob my cages and prob my tooth brush lol but not the snakes. i guess its a good think i have my own security system and i dont have as much in vested as a lot of you

most if not all insurance companies will not cover the snakes...
and the cages will be probably only covered for price minus depreciation.....they won't pay half what they cost....

there are a couple or one company that will cover the snakes...not sure how much coverage...stolen yes, death ? maybe not.....and it isn't cheap....

....is probably the only insurer of a collection of snakes and you will have to have many thousands of $$$$$ to do that!
