pics of my set up...and what to do with "extra" steralite boxes

IcedGoddess Sep 11, 2003 01:15 PM

Just took a couple pictures of my latest "set-ups", It seems like I'm never satisfied with how I have the cages arranged. Here's the baby rack and a split 20-long

Two more babies and the three 20 longs

Believe it or not, there really is a snake in each of those cages!

And finally, someone in the house found a use for those extra steralite boxes! lol, or is she telling me there's no room for more snakes?

This was a father/son project over the summer, my father is pretty good with wood and we put this shelving unit together with about $100 parts (not including lighting). Each shelf pulls out for easy access to inside.

ALSO I've found no eating mats are necessary on the top two tanks because the lighting fixtures actually generate heat that conducts up into the tank above (you can feel it- it's the perfect amt according to my thermo's)...

Nice setup, any empty space is bad empty space, FILL THOSE STERILITES WITH MORE SNAKES

All white lights (left) are hooked into a single timer that gives the snakes between 10-12hr day cycle and the red lights (now plugged in and one's on the right) are on a separate timer to go on ~9pm-3am so I can see them at night too. I love this setup

you'll notice on the top shelves in the very back there is a board running across. All I did was take the clips that come with those reptile light fixtures and clip them to the boards my dad and I put there. It was his idea, quite ingenius if I might add...
