Emory's x corn...

ratsnakehaven Mar 09, 2009 10:59 AM

For the heck of it thought I'd throw up a couple pics of my hybrid, Miami phase corn (Pantherophis (Elaphe) guttatus guttatus) x Brazos Island rat (P. emoryi meahllmorum). Pics are from when they were babies, as I don't have any newer ones at the moment. They are possible het for hypo and/or amelanism.

Here's my favorite...

This is one with very little ventral pattern, showing the meahllmorum influence...

I guess we could call these "rootbeers," but I'm just calling them hybrids at this time, as I haven't determined, yet, exactly what genetic mutations they're carrying.

Cheers...TC

You still have that female cinnamon?
I bet a pairing between her and one of those guys pictured could produce some nice looking babies. Especially if you got lucky and paired her up with one that is het hypo.

Sorry, Jimmy, but I think the cold MI winter was too much for her. I lost her during the winter. I should've given her more time to acclimate to my conditions there.
