Phil Peak Mar 09, 2009 06:32 PM

For you folks that are keeping up with our project, here is one of our first time breeders that is hopefully ready to produce this year.

Will keep everyone posted on our progress.

Thanks,

Thanks Jeremy,

The locale of these pines is what inspired our interest from the beginning, but they are very handsome snakes!

I would not keep that terrible animal in my collection if I were you. Why not get it out of there and send it to Texas along with the others in the project.

I love that animal Phil. I hope she produces many more for you.
PS I hope the Pit site (photo section) is back up soon. That is a great web page on Pituophis.

Thanks Steve! Unfortunately the image gallery on the Pit web site was lost in the server switch and will probably never be ressurected. Apparently it wasn't backed up and the computer guy that was doing this for us went AWOL.If I ever do something like that again I will pay someone to do it instead of relying on a friend that has way too much going on.

Phil,
I loved the Snake Hunting Guide by yourself and Will. Great insight into how snakes use different cover at different times and under different conditions.

In any case, with all of the snakes you guys have found over the years, it is amazing that these pines are that elusive. Have you found anymore since the book was written?

Thanks Mark! No luck since then but it has not been for lack of trying lol! Again this year we plan on putting forth a major effort to locate additional specimens. These magnificent snakes truly are ellusive but we can't think of a better way to spend our time than searching for them.

Glad to hear that you liked our book!

Phil
