Gotta love this time of year... I've seen lots of courting and mating over here with my Kings and Milks. A few Pueblans look ready to burst and should be laying soon.

The best part is I caught my White Leonis pair in the act last night while cleaning cages. WOO!! I'm hoping for better luck with them this year. Last year she gave me 3 eggs, but none hatched.

Sorry no pictures! They were finished by the time I thought to grab my camera.

Anyone else have some hanky panky going on in the snake tubs?

Walt and Mildred are goin' at it right now, when he's had a smoke, a sandwich and a nap, he will be tossed to Wilma, she is a brute this year! I am going to wait on Betty and Pebbles to grow some more so look out for next year!

That's great Aubrey. Maybe I'm late to the game, just brought 3 pairs up from brumation last week, so of course no action yet.
Good luck this season.

last, but not least, #8, Mighty Aphrodite! She's a killer guys, beware of her deadly charms! Really Chris, they are all outstanding, I spread the rest around to have backups, lol, well, I didn't want them to go too far! I am hoping for the same pairing this year and to add Betty and Pebbles to the batch next year. The 2 '07's I got from you. They are fattening up but probably should wait till next year. Thanks again for everything, oh yeah, the Gaps are doing well, the male is a monster but the female isn't too far behind!

What an excellent group you got there. I always had an unusually large group of females too. Not sure whats up with that but thats what most folks are looking for anyway. You got some really nice reduced black ones too. Can't wait to see what pops out this year. Walt sure has some excellent genes.

I am nothing but pleased with the group, Wilma's batch looked pretty much the same upon hatching, but time with them gives a better perspective of all the nuances, they are all different, from pattern to shades. Mildred's group were all orange, some with a lot of red, most reduced black, but had a bit more variety. This year I will use egg crate to put the eggs on above the perlite.

"This year I will use egg crate to put the eggs on above the perlite"

How come? Did you have problems last year w/ mold or something?
Thanks

antelope Mar 12, 2009 08:02 PM

A little mold on a couple eggs in my splendida clutch, not much, but I think I went too wet in general. Just trying something different, I had a few dead in the egg, I think too much moisture was my overall mistake.

Hi Chris,
I'll definately have to do that one of these days. The pair you sold me is doing great. Should be ready to go for me next year.
