infertile...but still exciting

ryan_m Mar 10, 2009 12:13 AM

Hey guys. One of my Bearded dragons laid a clutch of 19 eggs earlier today. She is currently housed with another female and has never been in contact with my male so her eggs are infertile. She stopped eating for about 3 days and was digging like mad around her enclosure. It enetered my mind that she may be about to lay, however she is still under a year and I just assumed she was not ready to cycle this early...evidently I was wrong. Although she is a very healthy dragon she was looking a a little beat up after the lay. I was hoping some of you could give me some advice on making sure she makes a full recovery. Any additions I should make to her diet that may help with the process? Also should I be adding more calcium/multi vitamines to her diet? Thanks everyone.

After laying they are dehydrated. Drip water on her nose with an eyedropper until she stops licking it up. Try this twice a day for a couple days. Otherwise supplement as normal and offer extra food.
