Black Ratsnake Morphs Colour or Pattern

souix Mar 10, 2009 07:50 AM

Can someone help me out please and tell me what the general thoughts are on the various Black Ratsnake morphs, for instance is White sided a Pattern or Colour morph, what about Brindle, Calico, Leucistic etc ? If you could list what you know and indicate with Colour or Pattern it would make this old ladies head hurt oh so much less

All that you inquired about are simple recessive genes. They are considered morphs not color phases.. The Brindle gene is dominant and sexually dimorphic. I dont think there are any other dom. genes in the Black Rat lineup.

There are others with more knowledge here - maybe they'll chime in on this.
