Egg bound? or just a Fatty?

One of my females is driving me crazy! I've had several Tremper albinos breeding and laying very regularly. This year I also tried to breed one of my normal females. She has never been bred before, and I did not witness copulation, but she was cooled and then kept with a proven male for quit a while. She looked gravid to me, but I find it's a little more difficult to see eggs on her compared to the light colored albinos. I was pretty sure she was gravid and getting bigger and bigger, but she has not layed eggs. Also, her tail was very plump before but her tail has lost a lot of weight as her belly grew fatter and fatter. I do see that sometimes with my gravid girls.

I usually feed a LOT during this time of year to give the females as much chance as possible to keep up their weight.

She seems to be active and otherwise healthy.

Could this girl be egg-bound? If so, what should I do??? I was thinking I'll just keep my eyes on her and keep waiting. Is there anything else I should do?

Thanks!

She may be egg bound. If she is in a clear terrairium You can try and gently push her belly against the side of the glass and see if you can see the eggs. I had a female I had to do this with cause it was hard to see the eggs. If the male is still with her take him out he may be stressing her. You can take her to a vet or just give her a little more time.

I had a pair of sub adults(or what I thought was sub adults) turned out to be mature adults which resulted in my 42g female laying eggs earlier than I had planned. She was egg bound on her first set of eggs. After 6 weeks with no eggs, I removed most of the decorations from her tank other than her egg box, water and food dish. Then I soaked her in a zip loc container wil about 1/2 warm water in it. Just enough to come up to her belly. After about 30 mins she went back into her cage. The next morning I had eggs. She's laid 6 more clutches with no problems. Still holding weight @ 37g.
