Once you get that new cage built, get a large wide basking spot, it should be at least as wide as his flattened body..so he can be comfortable while basking. Also, a wide basking area allows a dragon to 'spread out' thus enabling them to better reach the temperatures they need and have more exposure to UVB light..greater surface area, greater exposure.

Certainly a well fed dragon though
