Anyone have any experience with Mangrove monitors?
Tips about keeping them etc?

Thanks,

Check out proexotics water monitor care sheet. It covers the basics. V.indicus is much more nervous and fragile than a water though. Less forgiving as captives.

I am told by someone who breeds them here that they will drop off the perch very quickly if they get cold. And cold is relative because anything under 26C is cold to them. Very unforgiving about temps. I was interested in getting a pair until he told me that because if the power goes out because of a bad storm or whatever, there is no way I am taking them into my bed to keep them warm!

The Mangrove is kind of the bottom rung choice in that family, to me.

A better choice, if that type of monitor appeals to you, would be a high quality Peachie or Blue Tail baby.
