Sure looks different from Adam's. Is that one texas too? Very nice!

The Texas bairdi have a wide variation of visual color and appearance throughout their range. The edges of their scales can have yellow-orange, white, pink, lavender, and a few others. The scales on the fore body will have blue-grey edges with the edges taking on an orange or deep orange color towards the rear. The Texas bairds' dorsal color is a grey-brown or silverish. Bairds from the same clutch can all have a different appearance and color as adults. Bairds ratsnakes are unique in that neither the breeder nor you can tell how a hatchling will look as an adult. If you were able to have all the clutch mates come back to you when they are 3 years old, you wouldn't believe they came from the same clutch. It doesn't matter if you are first or last on the list for a pair from a breeder. Your pair will have the same chance as the first clutch to be the best looking. Actually, this variability makes almost every bairds ratsnake have its own beauty. Now if you wanted a bairds that would have alot of orange then you have a difficult task trying to pick one out of a group of hatchlings which won't show a hint of orange, but will develop some as they grow. The best way is to get an adult that already has it. The difficult thing there is finding someone to sell his adults. You don't see adult bairdi on the classifeds that often. Each bairdi developes at a little different pace, but expect them to make the transition complete when they are 3 years old. Good luck

You can't really see it in this picture but she is beginning to get some nice bronze coloration between her scales. It shows up nicely after a meal.
I can't wait to see how she matures.

color and pattern transition for a yearling Jimmy. I don't think we ever catch all the colors and shades with a camera. I bet she looks super out in the sunlight. It should take her until she's 3 years old to complete her color and pattern change. Some do it a little faster, but that's a time frame to shoot for. If you think she shows some nice colors after she eats, imagine how they look crawling along the rocks and crevices in the wild. Thanks for sharing a pic of her and good luck.

I have a yearling male that I got at the same time. The female was born in August and the female in Sept. of last year.
It is pretty cool watching their colors as they slide through my hands.
I think they will turn out to be some nice Bairdis.
I will try to post pictures about once a month to show how they mature.
By the way......These came from Renegade Reptiles.
They are pretty active, they eat well and are pretty docile.
Every once in a while they rattle their tails but they quit musking and have never attempted to bite.
I like 'em.

nice looking bairdi babies for sale in the past. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with them. I may have to drop by and see them at the IRBA show in San Diego. I wouldn't want to miss anything. LOL. Good luck with your pair of bairdi Jimmy.
