I have never seen this before!!. My Het Pied Female locked up 3 times 10/15/05, 12/19/08, 12/20/08 and I tried more but there was no interest. But I kept track as to when she shed,1/31/09 and on 3/2/09, she laid 8 good eggs her first time. She was at 2400 grams. So I did not witness any ovulation, and I checked almost everyday.
Now this Het Albino Female in the picture I think I caught the ovulation and what an amazing sight, since she had not had anything to eat in weeks.

Female Pied, I missed her ovulation, but I did notice her to be quite swelled up and now she looks normal again. I failed to take some pictures, just a bit busy and all. She has locked up several times with my het pied male, and 1 time with my Albino male. This is one of my special projects. I will be holding several of the babies back and see what they produce in the future. That is if she lays good eggs.
My Irian Jaya due to lay eggs any day now.
