Hello:

So I "rescued" a leopard gecko colony about 7 months ago, from a breeder (1 male, 5 females). I did a ton of research, fed them the best foods, and they were all getting healthier. I supplement their diets, they all are in their own cages, they are clean, warm, on carpet. I even had them all checked by a vet in Portland recently and they all checked out with tip top health. Some of them have begun to lay eggs, so I have been marking it on the calendar, so I can make sure everyone is on "schedule".

One of the older geckos, 3-7 years old, started to lose energy and appetite. Three days ago, her two front feet and forearms have become tight and swollen. I'm not sure if it would be in her best interest, to drive her all the way to Portland, so I'm looking into a closer herp vet. I'm getting very worried!

I have begun to feed her "sick gecko food", the stuff I fed her when i first rescued her, to try and keep her nourished. She is eating, unwillingly, and getting warm baths. But I am at a dead end. Could the swelling be a symptom of distocia? She is the only one of the group that has not laid eggs, Could this be MBD? Can gecko's OD on calcium?

I'm from Walla Walla WA and will be contacting surrounding cities for a nearer herp vet tomorrow morning. Until i'm able to get her in to see someone, I would like to prevent any worsening of the condition.
