Housing retics together??

jwmckee Mar 12, 2009 03:46 PM

I have a question for everyone. I have a 14ft. tiger female and I am thinking of getting a male of the same size. My cage measures 8ft.long, 4 ft.wide and 4 ft, tall. My question is I was wondering if I could keep them together? I know I will need a bigger one someday so it wouldn't be forever. Thanks in advance.

Your cage is big enough to house them together, your only problem is going to be when it comes to feeding time. I have several large pairs that live together full time, but I "tub" feed them, then rinse them off in my "soak tank", and then thoroughly wipe them down with Reptile Relief before putting them back together. It's a roaring pain in the butt, but when your short on caging and space, it's about the only way you can house multiple animals together and still stay safe.
Hope this helps.

Its best to have them separate for breeding and feeding, but the cage is probably large enough for a while.
