San Diego Gopher (High-Colored Normal)

KenRoshak Mar 12, 2009 09:47 PM

Nice posts (below) on the San Diego normals. They are one of my favorite pits. This guy was my first gopher, first pit for that matter and he grew into a real nice looking boy. He's het for Applegate albino but I haven't been able to prove it He's been with 2 different girls but none of the pairings resulted in any eggs so while he's not "doing his job" he sure is pretty enough to keep around.

As long as we're showing SD normals, here's one of the normals I produced from a Snow X Applegate Albino pairing. My Snow was only het for Applegate albino which is why the pairing threw a few "normals" along with albinos. He's starting to color up nicely for a baby.

Great pics Ken & Al. I'm glad to see these snakes getting some props among Pits. They almost rival deserticola in their variability. Ken's "high colored" and Al's striper are beauties.

Gorgeous Ken. That is a very colorful San Diego Gopher. How did that one look as a hatchling? Any indications that it was going to develope into a screaming adult? One thing I noticed is that mine has orange eyes, as well as your adult. Do all San Diego's have that, or just some of them? Thanks Steve

Thanks Steve! I'm super proud of how he turned out. As a hatchling he was bright but no more than others I've seen. I have another (a female) who is also bright but his yellow's stand out brighter than hers. All my SD's have orange eyes.
