That was interesting how the snake moved its prey like a leopard would except in this case it s was under a small rock. I wonder if whomever was recording disturb it?

That is exactly what happened. We moved around to get better light and a better camera angle and it go spooked and crawled away with its prize.

C'mon, man. Dream on. Only the Ball Python people are allowed to do that! : )

CMSMITH Mar 16, 2009 01:10 PM

their names. My favorite is "het for rediculous."

I think a lot of those Ball Python entrepreneurs are finding out right about now that they could have made a better living had they employed their morph-naming (or flavor-of-the-month-naming) talents with the marketing team at Starbucks. I recently spoke with my publisher, Bob Ashley, who obviously stays pretty connected to breeders in the industry -- he said that a lot of bp breeders are discovering that some morphs they paid 12K for 18 months ago are now selling for $150.

I think all of that "Mocha Locha Coca Latte con Biscotti a la Mode" belongs in a coffee cup, not on a snake price list.

I'm just not that original. LOL I've only named two morphs; both are already names for human hair colors -- one that I was lucky to hatch twice now -- Bleached Blonde (the white blonde below),...

...and the other I purposely and selectively bred -- Het for "Strawberry Blonde", which when bred to each other or other blondes will make the first extreme orange blondes. They're a cross between a Panther Canyon animal with high Orange and a Mustard Blonde.

I thought of making Red Blondes and/or Chocolate Blondes by using my dark reddish brown Davis Mountain animal to breed into Blondes, but those aren't really hair colors, are they? LOL I guess if you get a dark blonde from that line, you could call it a Dirty Blonde. Maybe Alex Porteck will consider doing that, now that he has my dark Boy Scout male? I sure would love to see what a Blonde would look like out of that male.
