Their color doesn't matter to me at all. But, out of 23, I only have 1 or 2 I would call a normal. You just don't see them around as much anymore.
I guess that people buy with their eyes as it's been said.
I like the plain old normals but sadly the only real place to get them is pet stores. Even then most pet stores sell the more yellowish dragons as they sell better.
They are still advertised in newspapers etc so they can still be found but most reptile shows don't have normals. It could also be simply because there is very little 'fresh blood' available in the bearded dragons of North America because 'wild caught' specimens are unavailable due to the exportation ban of all Australian wildlife. Hopefully in time this will change.

I have an old guy who is a gray normal. He's about 11 and sadly, on his way out. I have his daughter and son who were a normal x pet store sandfire cross. They are basically tan with just a little orange in the beard and by the ears. I've wondered if they are as close to "normal" as is left.
i love my normal.he is also 11 and is the nicest, most gentle thing in the world. he loves sitting in the window or sitting on our shoulders
i have 1 normal and shes 4 yrs old at the moment and i also have her son from when i bred her with my citrus cross male

My brother and I started out with a large normal male and a yellow pastel female. We try for the color morphs so we can try to earn a few bucks to put back into our collection but we have more normals than any other type. They are still beautiful animals and even if we breed the normal to a special morph, who knows what we'll get? We love them all the same regardless.
