Rory and Ripcord

el_toro Mar 13, 2009 04:25 PM

Ripcord has been moved back into separate digs for a while until Rorschach deals with her eggy belly. He seemed a little distressed to lose his one-woman harem, but now has apparently forgotten about her. He's also getting lots of color this spring - very yellow on the cheeks and he's turning very blue-green like his daddy. It doesn't show so much on the picture, though.

Rory, meanwhile has gotten humongous and is digging like mad in her big egg box. Hopefully she can drop her eggs without eating her weight in sand, since she seems to have such a taste for it.

I can't believe how Ripcord has grown! He looks so mature and isn't even 9 months old yet. Best wishes to Rory and her first clutch. Any chance that her eggs could be fertile?

We may have all come on different ships, but we're in the same boat now.

There's definitely a chance. I've never caught them mating, but there are occasionally squabbles from their cage, so I know there have been attempts. They're separated now until she's laid them (STILL just digging, not laying).
