A harmless water snake of the genus Nerodia. Someone here will know which one and post it before I can look it up, probably.

No that is an import. I think its a south african water snake.

Sorry, I didn't notice who posted, so I was going by the American newspaper for locality... In that case, I don't know, but it sure looks closely related to Nerodia.
