What kind is this?

amyjk Sep 11, 2003 04:16 PM

My sons friend found this tiny lizard in their home. He is very, very small. I would say about 1" from nose to tip of tail. My guess is brown anole, though they are not native to my area (or at least I don't think so) We live in Northwest Indiana, 40 miles East of Chicago. Any ideas?

He could of come in on plants, flowers or produce. It's happened to me before. He does look like a brown anole

...but from the Pic I do not dare to give a more exact Id. Can you make a closeup?

Why do you say definitely not? It looks just like a baby brown anole!

I'm agreeing that it probably came with plants or something else. It happens all the time, and browns are quite the survivors so it makes sense. It won't survive the cold though, so bring it inside if you can

Baby fence lizard?

It looks kindof like this, and I have read in other forums that fence lizard eggs are hatching now. I am NOT a lizard persoan, just making a guess.
