She's an 08, so about 10-12 inches long?

That is definitely a rat. My Gopher snake refused food this time around, and I hate to waste...

Here's another pic of him:

Also, here's a couple more you might like:

First I ove the feeding pics! I alwats prefer those over regular pics of snakes.

Do you know if there are two different traits of albinism in Prarie kings? I ask this because I have always seen the high red ones and the more plain yellow ones. Could this be because a Prarie king was bred to a mole king . About 16 years ago some people bred the two and called them 'Starburst kings'. Just wondering if the red remnants are let over from this cross or if these are a completly incompatiple trait from the yellow Praries?

Nice photos Diego! Hey,did you ever get over to herp that spot we talked about? If so, what did you find?

...I've been waiting for the day temps to stabilize a little more. Should be good in a couple of weeks.

...and you bring up a really good point. I, too, have seen the yellow ones, and wondered if there were maybe 2 strains of amel, or if there was something else involved. I didn't know about the earlier crosses.

Here's a pic of when I got her as a hatchling. The red was a bit more prevalent then.

Diego,

You've got some nice looking kings. It looks like the first (striped) one has a smiley face pattern on his head.

Nice post!

Diego, nice Carlsbad striper

Although I no longer have the parents to that one, I did breed one of the female Carlsbad striper to a Blizzard a few years ago....and I have 1.3 of those stripers (double hets).

They did throw a lot of complete stripers.

I still have the female, too. She just ate too fast for me to get the camera ready in time.

I could have pushed them to breed this year, but I decided to take my time and only work on 2-3 projects this season. Next year....
