I have a ditch on the side of my house, and i noticed an old piece of rotted plywood sitting in the ditch, so i cracked it open, and sure enough, there were termites everywhere!!! So i grabbed a mason jar and a paintbrush and got as much as i could. Well, i got a mason jar full of termites, but also a mason jar full of wood and dirt. Is there any way i can actually sift the dirt and wood out so i can put the termites directly in the tank with my frogs? I put the dirt n stuff in there this afternoon, and my frogs were gettin the termites, but i'm scared they're gonna swallow like a huge chunk of wood in the process. Should I even worry about that? I figure that's what they do in the wild, but u never know. So, any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

I would normally just put them with out any wood and stuff in a little petri dish in the tank for the frogs to eat. Interestingly enough when I was in the field (Central America) and we tried to feed some dart frogs we were using for filming etc (BBC) I collected termites there and they would not touch them.
Best,
Justin

I wouldn't use termites from plywood or fiberboard. The chemicals used in the treatment are pretty nasty stuff. Stick to logs.
