Feed big and often. Buy bigger cages. Repeat as necessary.

set up in appropriate sized cage with a temp gradient, water bowl, couple hides on either end, feed lots of mice, enjoy!

Are they really that bitey? Even if held often and fed enough? What is the suggested appropriate cage/tank size? Have to say the two I have are gorgeous, a local guy acquired them from Nokturnel tom

I haven't found them to be as "bitey" as easterns, Floridas, deserts and Cal kings - but they do get very excited about food.
They can be kept in a standard manner of any of the common kings - and there's plenty of cares sheets, books, articles, etc. available on that.

Haha, watch your fingers! Many of us have MBKs from Tom and just like people, they are individuals, I have a trio from Tom myself, cool as cucumbers but when feeding time comes, and as it is feeding time often here, best not be late, as LaPittus was obviously, lol!

I've never been bitten by one. They tend to rely more in musking and freaking out when they're little, but calm down as adults. Mostly.

Thanks guys, don't mind feeding heavy it's always good to see your snakes have a healthy appetite. The former owner did a good job with them, they have nice size. What gorgeous animals.

It's funny how they are the least colorful kingsnake, and yet one of the most beautiful.

Personally, they are my favorite colubrid.

Not too sure about not being colorful, freshly shed they throw a nice rainbow and the belly is a gray blue that I have not seen duplicated in any other snake, but I agree with you, they very well may be my favorite king, all around goodness!
