Amazon Milk Frogs

bgexotics Sep 11, 2003 04:44 PM

Does anyone know of a good place to find information on Amazon Milk Frogs (Phrynohyas resinifictrix)? I have tried searching and all I can find are pictures. I have kept many other Soth American frogs, so are they about the same requirements. I hear that they are pretty hardy, almost as easy as keeping a White's. But I would like some specific information on them since I can't find them in any of my books or online. Thanks.

This may be difficult, but if you have access to old Retiles Magizine articles there was a great article published on captive reproduction of Phrynohyas resinifictrix in the April 1998 (Volume 6;Number 4) issue. you may have to hunt around for this but I think its worth it.

I immediately need some info on their temp/humidity requirements. Also does anyone know about their toxicity levels, is it ok to handle them? Also how large do they get?
Thanks!

I have read that large adult females get between 3.5-4 inches, and adult males 2.5 inches. And they are similar to keeping whites tree frogs, they can handle relatively dry or humid conditions.
