Is this just a normal???(opinions plz)

aboaslife Mar 15, 2009 09:53 PM

Trying to see what you guys think of this little girl.
I picked her up yesterday and she just has the oddest
look about her.Any opinions would be nice and any way she
is a great looking normal if that is all she is

There is obviously something very unique about the color and pattern.

The only suggestion I have would be to breed her to a normal and try to prove that she is dominant or codominant. If she throws mini mees then breed her to one of her sons that looks like her to try and prove that there is a super form.

Best of luck with the project, we'll be waiting to hear about the outcome.

That is a very nice looking boa but a normal boa. Not trying to be mean but too many people will post up normals that are a little different and ask if they have something special, boas with aberrancies and ask if they are jungles or even albinos that are a little red and start asking if they have corals. I could sit here and tell you that the boa almost has an aztec like pattern but then again having seen who knos how many thousands of boas I have seen some similar to that that just look normal to me. Who doesn't want something special or to come accross something unreal, I know I do so I understand where you are coming from. But the truth is, and I'm not saying this is you, we have too any people that have boas wanting them to be something they are not and have way too many people trying to name a boa line. I think we(the boa community), myself included, need to take a deep breath and relax.

It's a great looking animal whatever it is. It might be something new but I agree with what Brian said the only way you're going to know is to breed it, and then.......well it could be a very long road. Take Care, Nick

Hey Nick,
Lisha told me that you complemented our Cherry's. I agree with you, they are amazing looking animals. We've got great plans for them this year lol. We checked out your cyclones. Those are awesome looking. Very cool morph

Thank you i didnt pay a dime for her so no matter if she has something genetic or not she def going to be in my collection for sometime. I just thought she was very interesting.I guess we will find out in about 3 years or so lol if she is special or just a good looking normal

aboaslife Mar 16, 2009 11:10 AM

thats what we have planned for this little girl even thought of going back to the guy and getting a male sibling that had the same look there was 5 out of the litter that had this look and possibly '10 breeding season seeing what he produces from a normal breeding

That definately adds to the possibilities. IMO if there are more siblings like this, I'd snap up a male for sure, maybe even another female!!!!

She's pretty! Looks like a normal with a circle-back and some ladder-tail patterning to me. I knew a guy that was breeding a classic circle back ladder tail (CBLT) trying to prove how it was genetically passed but I don't know what his final results were. I know some of the babies in the F1 had the same traits but not sure if he ever proved it recessive/dominant or just a line bred trait.

Breeding trials are the way to go! Good luck with her,
April
