Unexpected ovulation...

ilovemylizard Mar 17, 2009 12:18 AM

I had a male in with this girl since early February...he seemed determined at first, but got lazy and just wanted to sleep...I pulled him to feed a few times, and placed him back in, same story...a few hours, sometimes a day of courting, and then he would stop.

Since he's been curled up, completely ignoring her this last week, I figured he had missed the boat...but tonight I find this:

Looks to be an ovulation, but not sure what to expect from her, considering his half-hearted breeding...he's usually a 24/7 machine...he'll even breed his own side if he is alone, LOL. I sure hope he hit the target at some point...

This is a whole picture of the female, she is a 2004, 25% Suriname het albino, produced by Boamorph...

The male is an '03 50% Suriname het...and father of the '07 and '08 Roswell litters.

Well Heather, all you can do is wait and see.

I know from experience with my BRB's, one well timed copulation can be enough!!

I saw some evidence left around the cage (and on the female, LOL) that he was breeding...just wish I could have seen more of the actual business going on...

I'll start watching out for her to go into shed, and the wait begins

Wow Heather,
Looks like you got a really nice ovulation too, good luck with her! I had the same thing happen with this Central American female this year, so I know how you feel... I kinda feel like she's gravid but just not 100% sure... At this point, I can only hope for the best!
Good luck with your female, hope you get a really large litter!
Hopefully your male was breeding while you where sleeping? That's what I'm hoping for!

Your CA girl sure looks to be full!

I hope you are right and my male was working while I was sleeping...him and the female's colors would match up pretty well...
