Do you candle your carpet eggs?

I have a gravid female coastal that is about to go into her pre-lay shed. I'm all prepared for eggs and I plan to do artificial incubation. My question is do any of you regularly candle your python eggs to see if they are doing well? (this is my first time with carpet python eggs). With corn snake eggs I never do this...I just go by eye and hope for the best. With my gecko eggs I always candle them and it seems to be very helpful sometimes. The good gecko eggs glow a nice rosy pink if they are good and eventually show some visible vascular growth. The gecko eggs that are infertile sometimes look "normal" on the outside but glow a bright yellow when I candle them.

Is there any sense in doing this with python eggs? Is is very clear which eggs are fertile and which are infertile?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

We candle our eggs, not all the time, but usually we candle them when we first put them into the incubator, then maybe once or twice during incubation. We use a candler that we got from the Bean Farm.

I don't see anything wrong with checking the eggs once or twice just to make sure everything is going well. Best of luck with your eggs...
