What's the deal with the spots on tails?

BigFil Sep 11, 2003 06:06 PM

What is the deal with the brightly colored dots that appear at the base of tails in some pictures? It looks like a dab of nail color or something, but what does it signify? Just curious.

Breeders use these marks to keep track which babies came from which clutch and other reasons. I am not sure of other reasons but that is the only one I can think of off hand.

When someone is selling a bunch of dragons, you have to be able to post a pic and when someone responds to an add, you definitely have to be able to go back and find that same exact dragon. If you mess up and send the wrong dragon, your name is mud. lol

Hope that helps.

This dragon is # 312F

3 = clutch 3
1 = red dot
2 = yellow dot
F = female and pink dot
