Top 3 from Litter #1 Cyclones pos. Super

robertmcphee Mar 18, 2009 09:46 PM

Here are a few of the Cyclone pos. Super Hypos from my litter on March 3rd that I was saving for last. I have not shown these yet. I could not hold out anymore...lol.

I was looking in on them today and decided to share.....
First two sets are females, the last 3 pictures is a male.

Robert, are these Cyclone littermates? I thought the Cyclone line or morph was characterized by aberrant patterns.

they certainly look like very nice super hypos though. but I think I like the aberrant Cyclones more. did you get many of the really aberrant Cyclones from this litter?

thanks for posting the pics.

This litter did not have the number of aberrancies as last year as I used a different male as a test. The parents to this litter were not aberrant. The female produced a very small litter of 5 babies last year with 3 aberrant babies ranging from extreme to slightly aberrant, but this was with my 2005 male that showed a lot of aberrancies. I was trying to find out if aberrant babies can be produced with non aberrant parents--I am assuming that the male used this year did not boost the "cyclone" aberrancy traits....Here is a picture of the parents of this years first litter...

Parents of last years "Extreme" Cyclones (both litters)

The interesting thing is aberrant babies were produced, just not like last year where both the female and male contributed the cyclone traits (I call them F2). This year the Cyclone traits were passed on by only the female...(Like in F1)
I hope that makes sense I am getting tired.....

I am drooling over the parents in that last picture, gorgeous!

I wanted to thank you for sharing the work and results you've gotten with your cyclone project. I've got a couple similar plans (with harlis) re: using two very abbarent parents vs. one abbarent parent, etc. They are very interesting projects in my eyes. I can't wait for your very abbarent cyclone girl (non hypo) to be old enough to produce, she is so unique looking. (I think it was a girl...?)

I really appreciate the comments. It has been a crazy ride. With the whole online scene and everything...lol. But that is what makes it more fun. Its not very fun unless you can share with everyone on the forums...I think the good outweighs the bad every day!
The "normal" Extreme Cyclone is a female, and is growing nicely!
I can't wait to see how things turn out with her....now the task of figuring out what to breed her to!

Thanks again!
Here is a quick pic. of her.

She's a beauty, such an interesting chain-zig-zag-zipper-pattern. Can't wait to see what you produce with her.

agreed!

Have a great day,
