I use Rep-Cal phosphorus free calcium with vit D. I also use Rep-Cal Herptivite along with this. Rep-Cal vit D and herptivite seem to be one of those things many people use and pass along that they are having sucess with it. I started using it because many people on this forum were using it.

ditto, although I'm looking into the newer calcium dust...oh what is that name? Starts with an 's'...strontium?

faygo19 Mar 19, 2009 11:12 PM

If you find something that works better let me know but i kinda don't see something working better unless they add something different to it. Rep-Cal kinda has the right thign going for it.

I'm familiar to the Strontium research in humans. Keep in mind that it is offered in addition to Calcium and Vitamin D and not a replacement.

I'm a Rep-Cal believer.

I'm a believer in Rep-Cal as well and have used it for years. I haven't looked into strontium yet, but was wondering if it had a better bioavailability than oyster shell.

BDlvr Mar 20, 2009 02:22 PM

My understanding is that the Strontium would be in addition to the Calcium and D3. Not a replacement for.

Ahh...I see what you mean. I did a bit of reading and learned a bit about strontium. I don't think it's something I'm quite ready to jump up and down about quite yet.

I use Reptile Life Calcium D3. Mike at Bayou City Dragons has it for sell. All of my herps love it. My Uro and tortoises eat there greens better when its on there. It has pro biotics in it and its in a shaker container. I do not spill it like I did with Rep Cal. I have been using it over a year and will not change.
I have better results with it also. You might look into it.
