Sorry but another breeding question

MontanaHerper Mar 20, 2009 05:02 PM

a breeder told me that he got 2 clutches 1 with 26 eggs and 1 with 32 eggs from the same female last year in 08. Is that possible for a female to have 2 clutches in one season? If so is it bad for her???

our calender year doesn't dictate all things I guess is the point to that.... how far apart these clutches were laid is the other. If one clutch was laid in January and the other in December, that's completely possible.

Take care,
Jordan

as stated, it is possible if the in the same year is spread out far enough like jan/dec. however, why risk anything to your breeder. just like in humans, each time a birth is done, it puts just a smidge more physiological stress on the body/organs.
