Rabbits anyone?

natsamjosh Mar 20, 2009 09:29 PM

Not sure if anyone is interested in feeding their rainbow boas rabbits, but I figured I'd share this just in case. I've been trying to find a rabbit supplier so I could feed Jack (my indigo snake) rabbits, since they are leaner than rats. I finally got some rabbit pinkies today, they are about the size of a small rat. He seemed to like them. Here are some pics.

Thanks,
Ed

Hey, this ain't bad...

I dont know why, but I find those creepy looking. He sure seems to enjoy them!

I like the lower fat, but worry about the lack of calcium in such a critter. I imagine if you offer these as part of a varied menu, that'd work.

Great pix!

They do look like aliens!

You're on the ball with that calcium comment. I normally coat
rodents with a calcium supplement. Didn't do it this time since
it's his first time with rabbits. BTW, the sardine thing didn't work out so well. He didn't seem to be all that interested (would only eat one), and as bad as sardines smell, it is much, much worse coming out than going in.... yuck.

Thanks,
Ed
