How do I prevent mildew buildup in my...

How do I prevent mildew buildup in my cage? I have a croc monitor in a 6 x 12' cage in my garage and I have a humidifier on constantly to keep the humidity around 80%. I have noticed lately a mildew smell. Is there an easy way of preventing this from happening or taking care of it when it happens?

Thank you.

Regards,

More airflow maybe but it's tough because you don't want too much airflow or it will be too dry. I encounter this problem too, mainly with chams.

"Air flow" is the solution. Or should I say, "proper," "good" air flow.

Too much air flow & you lose humidity and heat. Too little and you have mold, mildew. If you're getting mold in one particular area, a single (or a few), small air hole(s) in that area might take care of it. Get a lil' air movin' in that area and you should be fine.

Have a good one!
