FedEx Need feedback

micky-kennie Sep 11, 2003 07:53 PM

Has anyone shipped FedEx? Do they allow lizards as a policy, or would I have to lable them perishable (instead of live harmless lizard)? I was thinking of shipping them via fed ex priority over night. I says it will be there by 10:30am the next buisness day. Does anyone know if this is a good idea? Any feedback would be apreciated. Thanks!

I;m thinkng FedEx will not ship any reptiles, (thinking) but you can write on the box very fragile, and ship, like UPS you have to have a special account to ship reptiles where you have to ship something out EVERY DAY, well I didn't do that, becuase I'm not shipping that often, but the woman knows what I do ship and is very nice about it, and careful with the packages,,so I would just write (this side up) handle w/care, very fragile there was something posted awhile back about it you might look through old post

As far as I know Fed Ex will only ship as UPS does with some time of special account for shipping live animals......but even then im not sure if they will ship lizards or snakes, or bugs or what not, I know that UPS will with a daily pickup account like flamin said. USPS will ship them and marked as such, but they dont guarantee next day and from what I have heard lots of their shipments will arrive in two days instead of one. I do know that airborne will ship live frogs if that gives you any hints? Chris

The airborne guys told me if you put "live turtle" on the package and label which side is up they will not turn the box upside down. Supposely they were told/trained that turtles will die if they are upside down for a certain amount of time. ah-hmm, another hint. LOL.

I ship fed ex twice weekly, I set up an account online and they pick up at my house on Mondays and Wednesdays. (Last pick up of the day as requested). My boxes are marked perishable.... but my shipping lable says Beginners Basics Reptiles, so I know that they "know" what they are shipping LOL
