scale issue

cthuleo Mar 22, 2009 08:09 PM

One of my retics has been having a problem with his underbelly scales. They're very rough, flakey, & seem to be chipping or peeling away on the edges about mid way down his body & toward his head. They're not discolored or anything. I noticed it a while ago, but thought it might shed out. But it seems to have just gotten worse. He's kept on cypress mulch. His temops are around 90 degrees on the hot spot, & around 84 on the cool end during the day & 75 at night. I don't keep his enclosure too wet. In fact, I may be keeping him a little to dry, though he seems to shed fine. Don't know what I could be doing wrong. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

if you post a pic of the problem area, it might be more beneficial. although, people can get some good ideas of the problem through discription, visuals are alot easier and more accurate
