OT / Not a Collared Baby

But what a cutie. He/she is my first gecko hatchling of 09. This one hatched a little earlier than I expected. He spent no time hanging out in the egg but hopped right out and started running all around.

After he sheds and eats some, he's going to live with my friend's son. This little boy is so excited he's about to burst!

Sorry not very good pics. These newborn albinos are so sensitive to light, they run away and hide their little faces from the camera.

Can you put something next to him to give us an idea about his size? Also, what do you feed tiny baby leos?

He looks so "naked" here, right out of the egg. He's about half the length of my thumb. His color is starting to change a little now after a week....starting to look more like a gecko. I'll take some more pictures to show the difference. That's one of the fun things about Leos is how much the babies change over time.

They don't eat until after their first shed, which should be any day now for him. I have a culture of flightless fruit flies (drosophila) waiting for him. He'll eat the fruit flies for a few weeks and then graduate to extra small crickets and meal worms.
