dom123123 Mar 24, 2009 12:31 PM

hey i fed my snake on the 12th and i been trying to feed him for the last week but hes eyes started getting cloudy so i figured he was shedding but its almost coming to 2 weeks mark since he ate last and i was wondering if my snake was sick or its just taking that long to shed this time.

First off, relax.. Snakes take time to shed and do NOT need to eat every week or 10 days or whatever schedule that you have in your head.

You can try to feed him while in shed, some snakes take and some do not.. But, either way it cannot hurt. Regardless, he will shed in a few days and i assure you that things will be back on track.

I have had snakes take two weeks to go through the entire cycle of shedding before. The same snake took less than a week to shed the next time it went through its shed cycle. It will happen. Just curious, what are your temps like? I think they might take longer to shed if the temps are a little low.
