Varanus Similis ?

FR Mar 25, 2009 01:32 PM

Its a timor complex monitor. As in, V.scalaris, if from Oz. Or similis, if from Indo.

For some reason the head shape rings of scalaris. But its been a while since I have seen one in person.

Both the ozzie and indo timor monitors have a huge variation in color and pattern from different locals.

If you give a little history, then someone could get a little closer. In from the states, there are few if any V.scalaris, so most here will not consider them. But if your from Europe or oz. They are to be considered. Cheers

The taxonomy of that species is yet to be resolved. Most people are calling them V.similis for the time being.
